Tennant Company is hiring a Global Data Engineer for an onsite role in Eden Prairie, MN supporting the Global Data Science & Business Intelligence Team. In this position, you will help enable Global Supply Chain and North America Business Unit (NABU) customers by building and improving data pipelines, models, and reporting datasets that support day-to-day decision-making.
The work involves collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, clean and transform data from multiple systems, and address data quality and refresh reliability issues. You will also contribute analytics assets across tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and SQL while following governance, security, and change control practices.
What you will do
- Support the development, maintenance, and validation of data pipelines, datasets, and reporting models used by Global Supply Chain and NABU customers.
- Collect, clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple source systems to improve accessibility, reliability, and usability.
- Partner with senior team members to build and enhance data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets for supply chain performance, cost analytics, and operational decisions.
- Develop and maintain Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL, and other analytics assets in line with team standards and business requirements.
- Run data quality checks, reconcile outputs to source systems, and help troubleshoot accuracy, completeness, refresh failures, and reporting inconsistencies.
- Analyze supply chain and NABU data to identify trends, performance gaps, process constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into technical tasks, data logic, and reporting deliverables with guidance from senior data engineering and business intelligence team members.
- Create and maintain documentation for data sources, transformations, business rules, report logic, and support processes.
- Support process improvement and strategic supply chain/NABU initiatives by preparing data, validating analytical outputs, and confirming results.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, explain data outputs, and help ensure insights are actionable for non-technical users.
- Follow data governance, security, change control, and development best practices when creating or modifying data assets.
- Continue building technical knowledge in data engineering and business intelligence tools, including Microsoft Fabric, SAP S/4HANA, and Databricks.
What you bring
- A Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or Data Analytics/Science required (Masterβs preferred), with an associated technology-related minor such as Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of related experience in data analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, statistics, supply chain analytics, or a related technical field (internship, co-op, academic project, or applied business experience may be considered).
- Foundational knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods, data modeling, data transformation, and data validation concepts.
- Working knowledge of SQL and at least one analytical or statistical programming language such as Python or R.
- Experience or coursework with platforms including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power Platform, Excel, cloud data platforms, or similar technologies.
- Ability to collect, clean, transform, reconcile, and interpret structured data from multiple sources to support reporting and decision-making.
- Basic understanding of data pipelines, semantic models, reporting datasets, and data quality controls preferred.
- Exposure to ERP, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, or SAP S/4HANA data preferred.
- Ability to translate business questions into data requirements, analytical logic, and clear reporting outputs with guidance from senior team members.
- Certifications or continuing education in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL, Python, data analytics, data engineering, or related technologies preferred.

Compensation and schedule

- Pay: USD 72,800 - 109,500 per year
- Hours: Monday through Friday

Total compensation note
Posted salary ranges are provided in good faith, and Tennant Sales and Service Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges based on experience and qualifications as well as internal and external equity. The total compensation is calculated as base salary plus benefits.
