Job Description

Verkada is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Business Systems Engineering team, focused on building and improving tools that Go to Market teams use every day. You will work across key systems to reduce bottlenecks, remove friction in business workflows, and deliver technical improvements that support data used by sales, order, finance, and support teams.

This is an onsite role based in San Mateo, CA, with a salary range of USD 180,000 to 260,000 per year. You will join the team with 5+ years of software engineering experience and contribute across distributed systems and data processing.

What you will do

  • Design and implement technical solutions spanning AWS, Salesforce, and NetSuite
  • Improve systems observability and invest in reliability and the correctness of data
  • Build customer empathy to propose improvements to systems and workflows
  • Lead projects from ideation through release
  • Support the team by helping and mentoring junior engineers

What you bring

  • 5+ years of software engineering, with a focus on distributed systems at scale
  • Experience shipping customer-facing products or internal tools
  • Ability to stay flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Passion for observability and reliability
  • In-depth expertise in distributed systems and data processing
  • AWS Cloud experience touching foundational blocks: Kubernetes, Fargate, Lambda, Airflow, Athena, DynamoDB, VPC, and EC2
  • Bonus: Experience with data infrastructure and data analytics
