Purpose and Impact
Amentum is seeking a highly qualified Cloud Developer with active Top Secret clearance to join the Washington, DC program. The role supports a mission to accelerate operations through data and analytical insights, delivering enhanced reporting and global search capabilities to aid task management, cross-utilization, and alignment with national intelligence priorities while safeguarding confidential data and sources. The Cloud Developer will lead large-scale data analysis projects and design and deliver both on premises and cloud-based applications. The position involves planning and guiding the design and development of cloud architecture across multiple enclaves and implementing automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices. It also includes supporting the migration of applications to the cloud and the adoption of cloud capabilities by applying cloud knowledge.
Work Schedule
Typically, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a two-week pay period to reach 80 hours.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop cloud service delivery models and an architectural framework to enable platform as a service (PaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS), and data as a service (DaaS).
- Implement automation for cloud resources following DevSecOps best practices.
- Analyze applications to identify what platforms can move, migrate, or be deployed into a cloud environment.
- Provide strategies for failure recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analyses of cloud, cloud agnostic, and on site services.
- Develop and implement cloud applications, migrate existing on premises applications to the cloud, debug cloud stacks, manage policies for cloud services, handle requests for new technology, establish a secure cloud environment, and ensure appropriate availability and uptime design.
- Work independently to design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.
- Apply knowledge across multiple assignments; assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation; operate with latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with major cloud service providers (i.e., Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or Google) or equivalent experience in a high availability environment.
- Experience developing and deploying on a private or public cloud solution or a comparable high availability environment.
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or Azure ARM Templates.
- Experience implementing security best practices for cloud environments.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and processes.
- Experience working in AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.
Security Clearance
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field. In the absence of a degree, additional years of experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Experience
