Software Engineer (Python)

Truist Bank is seeking a Software Engineer (Python) to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions in Washington, DC onsite, delivering reliable applications and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain intricate software components and services to meet business and user needs.
• Implement advanced features and enhancements following established coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Lead code reviews and provide actionable feedback to improve quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross functional technical teams to plan and execute technical initiatives, ensuring on time delivery of solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex defects and production issues using root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Apply secure coding practices, testing strategies, and documentation standards to ensure software quality and compliance with organizational guidelines.
• Mentor and support junior engineers to foster growth and adherence to best practices.
• Leverage and contribute to existing frameworks, tools, and technologies to accelerate development across relevant technology domains.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Strong knowledge of information systems and the ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
