Uline is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to anchor a cloud-native microservices initiative in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The role centers on designing and deploying scalable Java and Spring Boot services on Red Hat OpenShift while guiding a software team toward resilient, production-grade solutions. This position sits at the intersection of development, operations, and leadership within a long-standing, family-owned company focused on stability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead the shift toward a fault-tolerant, always-on microservices stack on Red Hat OpenShift.
- Mentor a team of software engineers, ensuring project support and strong performance.
- Develop and secure scalable cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Improve observability across thousands of microservices with DynaTrace, Grafana, and Elastic Stack.
- Streamline deployments through a GitOps-driven CI/CD pipeline powered by Tekton and Argo CD.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of Java development and SQL experience.
- 5+ years of microservices development with the Java Spring framework.
- 2+ years deploying and managing Java microservices on Kubernetes platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift.
