Job Description

Aspen Avionics is seeking an Embedded Avionics Software Developer to drive the architecture, design, verification and validation of embedded software powering Aspen equipment. This on-site role in Phoenix, AZ focuses on delivering robust, DO-178C compliant software that enhances functionality, usability and integration across next-generation avionics systems.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of system architecture and software architectures, system requirements, software requirements, code and verification for Aspen products.
Deliver high-quality, robust software that meets DO-178C requirements.
Collaborate closely with Systems, Hardware, Certification and Flight Test engineers throughout the design lifecycle.
Participate in safety analyses for avionics equipment, including FHA, FMEA and FTA.
Coordinate with marketing, sales and field support to assess needs for new capabilities and product improvements for existing and new customers.
Interface with external organizations to enable the integration of Aspen products with equipment from other suppliers.
Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

5+ years of engineering experience in embedded software design.
Fluent in programming C or C++.
Experience with embedded OpenGL desirable.
Strong technical and communication skills.
Ability to work in diverse, cross-functional teams.
Experience in avionics system design and FAA Certification processes, including ARP4754, ARP4761, with DO-178C standards strongly preferred.

Application Questions
