Role overview
Join the Space division at Lockheed Martin as a Software Engineer focusing on the LE2 program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Apply strong software engineering skills to collaborate with project partners and help shape the future of the Fleet Ballistic Missile program. You will contribute to modernization efforts aimed at increasing efficiency, security, automation, and scalability, working with a dynamic team of software, systems, electrical, and test engineers using Agile practices.
Location and work arrangement
This position is based onsite near the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Littleton, CO. No telework is offered. You will follow a flexible 9x80 schedule and work full-time in the office.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a software engineer within the EGSE organization
- Support modernization efforts to boost efficiency, security, automation, and scalability
- Collaborate with software, systems, electrical, and test engineers using Agile development
- Coordinate with the product line manager and directorates to address program needs
Basic qualifications
- Programming experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, C sharp, LabVIEW, Python, TestStand
- 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering
- U.S. Citizenship is required. A Secret clearance is needed to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
- Experience with product life cycle (development and deployment) and hardware/software integration on Test Equipment
- Experience with issue tracking and troubleshooting
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or related discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience in simulation software development, software testing and validation, and software configuration management
- Systems thinking mindset
- Familiarity with test equipment and integration
- Experience with Agile and DevOps processes and culture
- Experience with Jira or other Atlassian tools
- Ability to work autonomously and drive items to closure
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem resolution skills
- Experience working on project teams and development efforts
- Experience developing software requirements, concepts of operations (CONOPs), and software design
Security and clearance
This position requires US citizenship and a government security clearance. Top Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain it. A Secret clearance is required to begin employment.

Compensation and benefits
Salary: The base pay range for this role is $93,200 to $164,450, with variation by location. In California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding some major metro areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC, this range applies. For other states, the final offer will reflect the candidate's location. This salary is a guideline and factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market considerations will influence the offer.

In Washington state, non-represented full-time employees accrue PTO and holiday hours as outlined, while represented employees accrue Vacation and sick leave with holiday provisions. Hours are prorated based on start date. This position is eligible for an incentive plan.
Work schedule and remote policy
Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules. This role follows a 9x80 schedule, with every other Friday off. The work will be performed onsite at a Lockheed Martin facility.
