Software Engineer

At PURVIS, this Software Engineer role centers on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions for government clients in a hands-on environment based in Newport, RI (onsite). You will help deliver software applications end to end, from implementation and support through participation in test activities and certification.

In this position, you will work across the software lifecycle while following required quality and security procedures. The work may also involve using computer-assisted engineering and design tools to support assignments, alongside familiarity with Linux and C++.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications.
• Support and/or install software applications and operating systems.
• Participate in testing by reviewing and analyzing tests, and by witnessing and supporting certification of software.
• Apply standard software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to the work.
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment as needed for assignments.
• Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across customer and organizational levels.
• Candidate must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
