Amentum is seeking a Cloud Developer/Integrator to work onsite in Hanover, MD, focusing on cloud-based geolocation solutions. The role spans requirements gathering, system design, artifact development, testing, and deployment across the systems engineering lifecycle in cloud environments. This position emphasizes building scalable cloud architectures and delivering reliable, maintainable infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and sustain cloud infrastructure with an emphasis on modernization, migration, and roadmap execution while adhering to governance and best practices.
- Develop reusable infrastructure as code modules using tools such as Helm Charts and Terraform, and enforce standardized IaC practices.
- Hands-on development experience with Java and React.
- Monitor system health and performance through logging and alerting, diagnose issues, and implement improvements for efficiency.
- Formulate resilience and cost-optimization strategies, including backup, high availability, tagging, budgeting, rightsizing, and autoscaling, and assess the value of cloud services.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system capabilities and efficiency.
- Contribute to deliverables such as architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and advocate enhancements to current systems.
Requirements
- Experience provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and services (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
- Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures.
- Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and similar technologies.
- Knowledge of containers and platform workloads (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE).
- Experience configuring monitoring, logging, and alerting with tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, and incident response practices.
- Experience implementing and testing backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
- Experience managing secrets and key management with tools such as KMS, Key Vault, Secret Manager, certificates, and rotation policies.
- Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance (tagging, budgets, rightsizing, autoscaling) and producing usage/cost reports.
- Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues across networking (DNS, routing, VPN), security, and service limits.
- Experience documenting architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, five days per week.

Education
Minimum education: Bachelorβs degree in computer science or related discipline
Experience
Minimum years of experience: Fourteen (14) years as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
