Senior Software Engineer

This hybrid role is based in Irving, TX, with periodic in-office work at 6021 Connection Drive and telecommuting for the rest of the week. What you’ll do

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software, including specialized utility programs
• Design and develop solutions by studying information needs, collaborating with users, and following the software development life cycle
• Build scalable applications with Java, including creating design specifications and fixing design problems and other defects
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks while staying flexible as requirements change
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans
• Lead work on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results
• Expand and optimize software applications, infrastructure, APIs, and data workflows
• Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies, including test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
• Use engineering best practices to ensure code quality and integrate test cases into continuous integration systems

Core qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in the job offered, or 5 years of experience in any occupation where the required experience was gained
• Develop applications using Java with object-oriented principles and perform backend development including business logic, data processing, and database integration
• Write JUnit tests and develop comprehensive test suites for unit, integration, and regression scenarios
• Use SQL for retrieving, updating, deleting data, including aggregation, transformation, and migration
• Use Jira to support Scrum practices, backlog management, sprint planning, and tracking user stories and tasks
• Use Git or SVN for version control, including committing changes, branching, merging, tracking history, and coordinating development efforts
• Leverage JUnit to build automation frameworks for Java applications and integrate automation into Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines
• Use Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA for Java development

Compensation range

USD 160,285 - 182,000 per year
