Job Description

Software Engineer II will contribute to moderate complexity research, design, and software development activities within a defined software functional area or product line. The role supports delivery in Agile and Waterfall environments through specification work, bug fixes, and technical issue resolution.

Role Location and Salary

Location: Alpharetta, GA (onsite)
Compensation: USD 71,600 - 119,400 per yearly

Basic Function

This position performs moderate research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for system components of moderate complexity.
  • Complete simple bug fixes.
  • Collaborate with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Operate across development environments, including Agile and Waterfall, while working with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.
  • Stay current with new technology developments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

  • Minimum experience: 1+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • Education: BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages.
  • Ability to work with simple data models.
  • Proficiency in development languages, including (but not limited to) Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, including code coverage.
  • Basic knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages.
  • Knowledge of data storage subsystems.
  • Knowledge of test-driven development.
  • Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
