Job Description
This Software Engineer II role at Jack Henry & Associates focuses on building and improving conversion and related software, validating outputs through QA and auditing, and supporting delivery into production. Role Summary
The Software Engineer II analyzes data, designs and/or debugs a conversion tool, performs quality assurance and auditing of output, and supports software delivery into production. The role includes completing technical work in Visual Studio using C#, verifying fixes, and coordinating with QA to help ensure timely, high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, and bug verification and resolution in Visual Studio using C#.
- Performs system analysis and programming tasks that may include research through debugging and SQL database scripting.
- Provides task and project effort updates and estimates using DevOps and Git.
- Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production by working with the QA team.
- Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborates with the customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 18 months of object-oriented programming experience.
- Hands-on experience with autonomous AI agents and LLM orchestration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming in C# and SQL.
- Good understanding of image files at the hexadecimal level (PDF, TIF, JPG).
- Experience with code management tools such as DevOps and GitHub.

Compensation and Location
Location: Springfield, MO (hybrid)
Salary: USD 60,000 - 77,000 per year
Target range: $60,000-$77,000, depending on experience and location
Hybrid Role Requirements
- Requires at least 1 day per week in the Springfield, MO or Birmingham, AL office locations.
- All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding to verify identity.
