This senior-level Software Engineer role focuses on designing and operating dependable data workflows and automation pipelines using Apache Airflow. The position emphasizes reliable, scalable, and observable workflow orchestration in partnership with data engineering, platform teams, and relevant stakeholders.

Compensation
USD 152,150 - 205,850 per yearly
Summary
As a Software Engineer 2 (Senior) you will create and maintain data workflows and automation pipelines with Apache Airflow. You will work toward workflow orchestration that supports data engineering, analytics, and operational use cases, with attention to production readiness, security, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain data workflows and automation pipelines using Apache Airflow.
- Develop workflow orchestration solutions that are reliable, scalable, and observable for data engineering, analytics, and operational needs.
- Collaborate with data engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders to ensure workflows are efficient, secure, and production ready.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience
- Security clearance: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools
- Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
- Recent software development experience using Python and Java
- Experience using Apache Airflow including DAG design, scheduling, operators, and sensors to orchestrate, schedule, and monitor complex workflows
- Experience with Distributed Big Data processing engines, including Apache Spark
- Experience with containerization technologies including Docker, containerd, and Podman
- Experience using Git source control system
