Senior Software Engineer

Opus IVS INC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, maintain, and enhance applications that support advanced products across desktop, web, and service-oriented platforms. The position is based onsite in Dexter, MI and works within a SCRUM Agile SDLC using JIRA and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and continue developing applications using Python, Django/Flask, and PostgreSQL.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and support team unity.
• Create unit tests for existing and newly implemented code.
• Provide detailed effort estimations when needed.
• Work collaboratively within a SCRUM Agile SDLC using JIRA/Confluence tooling.
• Support multiple projects and teams simultaneously through an agile development methodology.
• Create and maintain documentation for both existing and new implementations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong experience and knowledge in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and object-oriented design principles.
• Proficiency with Python IDEs and current coding standards and best practices.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with Django.
• Demonstrable understanding of Pythonic object-oriented programming and software architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web service deployment, hosting, and cloud-connected architectures (e.g., IIS, Azure, or AWS).
