Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 4 Data Engineer to design, build, and sustain full‑stack data pipelines that move data from collection to delivery at scale. Based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania with remote work options, this role blends software development with advanced data engineering to turn raw information into reliable, analytics‑ready insights for stakeholders and AI initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create data pipelines that clean, transform, and consolidate unstructured data into analysis‑ready databases or data sources.
- Architect and implement data solutions by specifying capabilities, security controls, backup strategies, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Traverse every stage of the data solution lifecycle: data analysis and profiling, conceptual/logical/physical data modeling, ETL design, and reporting/analytics development.
- Maintain data system performance by diagnosing production and development issues and implementing fixes.
- Compute optimal parameter values to optimize system behavior.
- Evaluate, integrate, and deploy new software releases.
- Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for data objects to ensure consistency and quality.
- Collaborate with data subject matter experts and analytics teams to create and refine data and AI learning models that meet stakeholder needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Python, MS SQL, JavaScript, and HTML.
- Experience building and maintaining React web applications with JavaScript, CSS, and JSX.
- Experience designing and maintaining Node.js, RESTful APIs.
- Developing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Harbor, and OpenShift deployments.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Compensation
Base salary ranges vary by location. In most major metros, California, Massachusetts, and New York, the range is 131,000 to 227,125 USD annually. For other states, the range is 113,900 to 200,905 USD annually, with final figures dependent on location, scope, experience, and qualifications.
Location & Remote Work
Location: King of Prussia, PA, with remote work arrangements available. This is a full‑time remote position, with occasional travel to Lockheed Martin offices for periodic meetings.
Work Schedule
9x80 schedule with every other Friday off, offering additional flexibility beyond standard 40‑hour weeks.
