Job Description

Hibu, based in King of Prussia, PA, seeks a Software Engineer who specializes in backend web applications and AI-driven development. The role blends designing, building, testing, and maintaining backend services with opportunities to incorporate AI features, potentially using Devin, across collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy responsive web applications
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-driven features
  • Write clean, secure, and maintainable code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application tiers
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and AI development practices

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of web development experience (or strong project/internship experience)
  • Hands-on experience or strong interest in AI development, including AI coding and prompt engineering
  • Working with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Devin)
  • Understanding how to integrate AI features into applications
  • Experience with back-end technologies: Node.js, Next.js, Typescript
  • Basic knowledge of databases: Relational (Postgres) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB)
  • Experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Understanding or hands-on experience with microservices architecture
  • Exposure to AWS services, such as API Gateway, Lambda, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and S3
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Familiarity with version control (Git)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in Agile teams focusing on team success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of microservices best practices
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, preferably CDK
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices using CircleCI and LaunchDarkly flagging (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Devin or similar AI-assisted coding tools
