Job Description
Responsibilities
- Build foundational components of virtual battlefield simulations to support analysis and decision making.
- Develop new models and capabilities to empower analysts and expand simulation coverage.
- Integrate diverse models and simulations while enhancing existing tools and workflows.
- Leverage AFSIM to conduct simulation work and drive insights for operational studies.
- Collaborate in an Agile setting with analysts and other developers to quantify the impact of CONOPS, design variants, payloads, weapons, tactics, and force mix on survivability and mission effectiveness.
- Contribute to projects at the RMS business area level and across the broader Lockheed Martin enterprise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or other technical field.
- Experience with C++, Python, Excel VBA and/or constructive simulation tools.
- U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain a government security clearance; location at a facility that requires special access.

About the role and team
Within the Rotary & Mission Systems business area, the OA development team studies a wide range of operational scenarios to identify capability gaps and propose innovative solutions that influence customer strategies and Lockheed Martin’s long-term vision. The team emphasizes learning, innovation, and rigorous collaboration to deliver high-impact simulation-based insights for critical national defense missions.
Who you are
You are a motivated software engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You thrive in a team-based, Agile environment and are eager to deepen your technical expertise. A bachelor’s degree in a technical field, proficiency in C++ and Python, experience with Git-based workflows, and comfort working in Linux environments are key to success here.
Work arrangement and schedule
This role is hybrid in King of Prussia, PA. Remote work is possible for portions of the schedule, with on-site presence required at a Lockheed Martin facility. The standard schedule for this position is 4 days of 10 hours each, followed by 3 days off per week.
Security and eligibility
This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance. The targeted clearance level is Secret.
