Senior Software Engineer - Level 3 (TS/SCI with Poly)
Job Description
Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software for satellite mission planning and spacecraft operations in a TS/SCI with Poly environment at Lockheed Martin Space.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of software engineers to develop, enhance, and sustain satellite mission planning capabilities.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting mission planning and spacecraft operations.
- Implement software features and resolve defects in accordance with program requirements and software development best practices.
- Work closely with systems engineers, operators, and senior engineers to understand mission planning requirements and translate them into software solutions.
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Support software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, daily scrums, demonstrations, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Develop knowledge of satellite mission planning concepts, operational workflows, and mission planning algorithms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with software design, implementation, debugging, and testing using C#, Java, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience working in a collaborative software development environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Desire to learn mission planning concepts and contribute to the development of operational mission software.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with favorable polygraph adjudication and ability to maintain the required clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.

Work Schedules
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
