Build and ship software-defined command and control capabilities for mission-critical defense systems. On Anduril’s Strategic Defense team, you will help deliver faster sensing, decision-making, and action across a software-defined layer designed to support accredited fire control systems fielded rapidly and at scale. This role is based in Tampa, FL (onsite) and supports an important goal: protecting the United States and its allies from ballistic, hypersonic, and air-breathing threats.
What you’ll do
- Own end-to-end software solutions that are deployed to customers at the edge of innovation and necessity
- Write code to improve robust C2 products and scale mission capabilities to broaden impact
- Collaborate across engineering teams to plan, build, and test functionality of complex systems
- Partner with end-users to translate needs into features quickly, balancing user experience and engineering constraints
- Travel 10% to 30% with the team to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world where they are needed most
What you bring
- Ability to currently maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance (or higher)
- 3 to 12+ years writing production software in languages including C++, Rust, Go, or Python
- Experience owning a feature or service end-to-end, including design, implementation, deployment, and operational support when issues occur
- Comfort debugging problems in code you didn’t write and systems you didn’t design
- Ability to make engineering decisions with incomplete requirements, then revisit as reality and constraints evolve
- The ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-software stakeholders (operators, hardware engineers, customers)
Team and mission context
The Strategic Defense team builds a software-defined command and control layer to see, decide, and act faster than any human operator could alone. The team spans autonomy, tracking, simulation and wargaming, hardware, systems engineering, and test and evaluation to support integrated air and missile defense outcomes. Anduril is also incubating and maturing AI-native offerings for the integrated air and missile defense domain.
