Cloud Developer - Senior (Team 4)

Purpose and Impact

Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared cloud developer to join our Washington, DC team. This role supports an organization focused on accelerating operations through data and analytical insights. The team employs agile methods to deliver enhanced reporting and global search capabilities that support task management, cross-utilization, and alignment with national intelligence priorities while protecting confidential data and sources. The cloud developer will lead large-scale data analysis projects and design and deliver both on premises and cloud-based applications. Responsibilities include planning and guiding the design and deployment of cloud architecture across multiple enclaves and implementing automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices. The role also involves supporting the migration of applications to the cloud and promoting cloud capabilities by applying cloud knowledge.

Work Schedule

Typically, Monday through Friday eight-hour days on site. Flexibility within a two-week pay period to reach 80 hours.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop cloud service delivery models and an architectural framework that enables platform as a service, infrastructure as a service, software as a service, and data as a service.
• Implement automation for cloud resources following DevSecOps best practices.
• Analyze applications and provide recommendations for what platforms can move, migrate, or be deployed into a cloud environment.
• Propose strategies for failure recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analyses of cloud, cloud agnostic, and on premise services.
• Develop and implement cloud applications, migrate existing on premises applications to the cloud, debug cloud stacks, manage policies for cloud usage, establish a secure cloud environment, and ensure appropriate availability and uptime design.
• Work independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.
• Apply knowledge across multiple work assignments, with assignments that may be broad in nature requiring originality and innovation.
• Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems, contributing to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Minimum of seven years of experience with major cloud service providers (for example Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or Google).
• Experience performing significant research and development efforts or managing programs requiring innovative technical solutions, with development and deployment activities on a private/public cloud solution or a comparable high availability environment.
• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or Azure ARM templates.
• Experience implementing and maintaining security best practices for cloud environments.
• Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and processes.
• Experience establishing and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems for cloud resources.
• Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to performance and availability.

Clearance

Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or another related field. In the absence of a degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

Compensation

Pay: $170,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
