Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Junior Cloud Developer to join its on-site team in Washington, DC. This role calls for a Top-Secret clearance to design and build cloud architectures, automate operations with DevSecOps practices, and migrate on-premises applications to the cloud. The position supports a range of cloud service delivery models and emphasizes secure, scalable solutions in a government-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud service delivery models and an architectural framework to enable PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS offerings.
  • Implement automation for cloud resources following DevSecOps best practices.
  • Analyze applications to identify migration and deployment opportunities across cloud platforms.
  • Provide strategies for failure recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analyses of cloud, cloud agnostic, and on-site services.
  • Develop and implement cloud applications, migrate on-premises applications to the cloud, debug cloud stacks, and manage policies for cloud usage while ensuring a secure environment and appropriate availability.
  • Work independently to design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.
  • Apply knowledge across multiple assignments, with tasks that may require originality and innovation.
  • Operate with latitude in developing methodologies and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Requirements

  • Experience with major cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, IBM, or equivalent.
  • Development and deployment activities in private/public cloud environments or comparable high-availability setups.
  • Deploying and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager templates.
  • Implementing and maintaining security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and processes.
  • Experience working in AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.

Compensation

USD 115,993 - 135,000 per year.

Work Schedule

Typically Monday through Friday, eight hours per day onsite in Washington, DC, with flexibility within a two-week pay period to reach 80 hours.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field.

Clearance

Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience.
