Amentum invites a software developer to join a hybrid role in Springfield, VA, supporting a federal GEODS data services contract. You will design and implement features, APIs and backend services, and explore integrating AI and ML capabilities to improve discovery and accessibility of mission-critical data. Responsibilities
- Oversee the full software release lifecycle from planning and build through deployment and post-release monitoring
- Participate in code reviews and sprint planning sessions
- Attend daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress and blockers
- Write clean, well-documented code
- Develop unit and integration tests to ensure quality
- Contribute to technical documentation
- Implement new features based on specifications
- Analyze existing application processes and recommend efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with developers, testers, and operations teams to deliver timely and reliable releases
- Develop and execute test plans, support formal testing, and resolve defects
- Provide technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure questions
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience; years of experience may substitute for degree
- At least 2 years of experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and technologies including SDKs and CDK or equivalent cloud experience
- Familiarity with GitLab
- Experience designing scalable APIs and backend services
