Overview
Based in Washington, DC 20591, Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Cloud Developer to join its team. The role supports a mission to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The organization employs agile practices to enhance reporting and enable global searching to assist task management, cross-utilization, and alignment with national intelligence priorities while safeguarding confidential data and sources. The Cloud Developer will be part of a team delivering large-scale data analysis projects and building both on premises and cloud-based applications. The position involves planning and directing the design and development of cloud architecture across multiple enclaves and implementing automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps practices. It also involves supporting the migration of applications to the cloud and extending cloud capabilities through applied cloud knowledge.
Work Schedule
Typically, Monday through Friday, eight-hour days onsite. Flexibility within a two-week pay period to reach 80 hours.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop cloud service delivery models and an architectural framework to enable platform as a service (PaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS), and data as a service (DaaS).
- Implement automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices.
- Analyze applications and provide recommendations on platforms that can be moved, migrated, or deployed to a cloud environment.
- Offer strategies for failure/recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analyses of cloud, cloud agnostic, and on-site services.
- Develop and implement cloud applications, migrate existing on-premises applications to the cloud, debug cloud stacks, manage policies for cloud services, address requests for new technology, establish a secure cloud environment, and ensure availability and uptime design.
- Work independently to design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.
- Apply knowledge across multiple assignments; be prepared to handle broad tasks requiring originality and innovation.
- Operate with substantial latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
- Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience collectively with the following:
- With major cloud service providers (i.e., Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or Google)
- Performing development and deployment activities on a private/public cloud solution or a comparable high availability environment
- Deploying and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or Azure ARMs Templates
- Implementing and maintaining security best practices for cloud environments
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and processes
- Clearance Required: Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field. In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements

Salary
Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
