Genesis is seeking a Software Engineer to help build and evolve core software systems for its debt recovery operations. This onsite role in Phoenix, AZ focuses on full-stack development across the Genesis Console, integrations, automations, and data pipelines, with daily use of AI coding tools to deliver secure and dependable software.
Responsibilities

- Use AI coding assistants and agents to prototype, write, test, and refactor code, while reviewing outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Integrate core platforms and third-party systems by connecting the collection platform, payment processors, banks, telephony and dialer tools, HR and finance systems, and external APIs to replace manual exports and rekeying.
- Design data models and APIs that support financial, compliance, and operational workflows with accurate, auditable, and well-documented data.
- Automate repetitive tasks such as reconciliations, reports, file transfers, and approvals, including building dashboards with Power BI.
- Prioritize security and compliance through access control, logging, and audit trails that support requirements such as PCI DSS, GLBA, SOC 2, and client needs.
- Maintain reliability by owning testing, monitoring, deployment, and documentation so others can run and extend the systems you build.
- Collaborate with leadership and department owners by planning and delivering work, participating in code reviews, and sharing AI workflow practices with the team.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping production systems end to end.
- Strong backend expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or a similar stack, plus working knowledge of React or another modern front-end framework.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or SQL Server, REST or GraphQL APIs, and cloud platforms including AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on daily experience using AI coding tools (for example, Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot) with the judgment to trust, verify, or reject generated output.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with comfort working in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
