Software Engineer - Level 2

BAE Systems Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer - Level 2 to help automate complex workflows and streamline the software delivery lifecycle through CI/CD. The position emphasizes scalable system architecture, data engineering, and QA oversight, with a focus on repeatable and automated DevOps environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex mission requirements into scalable software designs and technical roadmaps.
• Apply expertise in working with massive datasets while optimizing performance for high-stakes environments.
• Lead the development of global test plans and oversee rigorous QA execution.
• Manage automated CI/CD environments using Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and Bamboo.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 14 years of experience in high-complexity software contracts and programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Mastery of Python, C, or C++, including experience with multi-platform (Windows/UNIX) architecture.
• Demonstrated experience leading software teams and mentoring junior developers.

Compensation

Full-Time Salary Range: USD 149,603 - 254,317 per yearly.

Individual salaries are determined by business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications including skills, education, and experience.
