Software Engineer

Teradyne is hiring an Experienced Software Engineer within the Compute Software Division to help deliver reliable software components used by customers in the local region. This onsite role in Agoura Hills, CA, US blends hands-on engineering with close customer interaction, with cross-functional collaboration across requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.

You will partner with customers locally while coordinating with teams to understand what the software must do, then translate that into robust, high-throughput component design and careful implementation. Emphasis is placed on precision coding, thorough verification, and extensive peer review to reduce escaped defects and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer interaction for the Compute Software Division in the local region
• Maintain strong working relationships with regional customers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements
• Document interface requirements for user review and end-user documentation
• Design components with throughput and robustness as key underlying requirements
• Code components and algorithms with precision and attention to detail
• Perform thorough testing and debugging to reduce escaped defects
• Conduct extensive peer reviews across product aspects to ensure quality

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Familiarity with an integrated development environment (IDE) and debug tools
• Solid grasp of data structures and algorithms
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Java (or equivalent object-oriented languages)
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Web application development is desirable
• Knowledge of analog electronics and/or digital electronics is a plus
• Co-op or internship experience is a plus

Compensation

• $129,600 - $207,400 base salary range (yearly)
• The range is a good faith estimate; base salary will correspond with experience and skill set
• The range can fluctuate based on demand and location
