Agentic Software Engineer III
Job Description
The Agentic Software Engineer III role is an onsite position in Arlington, Virginia within Deloitte's AI and Data team. The focus is on structuring AI and agent work to accelerate technology modernization for Government and Public Services clients, with an emphasis on coordinating cross-functional delivery, validating AI outputs for quality and compliance, and guiding end-to-end software delivery across the lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Break down business and technical requirements into structured tasks, prompts, and validation criteria for AI agent teams.
- Coordinate delivery activities across architecture, development, quality assurance, user experience, and technical documentation workflows.
- Validate AI-generated outputs for code quality, security, compliance, and release readiness before merge or deployment.
- Coordinate end-to-end software development lifecycle activities, including requirements, build, integration, testing, and release support.
- Support Government and Public Services client engagements by accelerating delivery of technology modernization work in public sector environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, software architecture, quality engineering, site reliability engineering, or DevOps.
- 2+ years of experience with generative artificial intelligence tools, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software delivery workflows.
- Experience using integrated development environments, version control systems, and software delivery tools.
- Experience with software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, testing, and release.
- Experience validating technical deliverables against quality, security, or compliance requirements.
- Ability to travel 10-50%, depending on the work performed and the clients served.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
