PROJECT - Data Engineer II
Job Description
Join Deloitte’s AI & Data team as a Project Data Engineer II focused on building and operating batch and streaming data pipelines. The role supports data quality and production data assets while helping deliver reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence objectives for clients.
Role Overview
This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that enable downstream reporting, analytics, and AI use cases. You will also help integrate data across environments, contribute to data quality and validation practices, and work with cross-functional teams to support client delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines for reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence use cases
- Build and optimize extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes using SQL, Python, and data engineering frameworks
- Integrate data from structured and unstructured sources across cloud and on-premises environments
- Support data quality, including validation, monitoring, and resolution of issues affecting production data assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data models, improve platform performance, and support client delivery goals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field
- 0–2 years of experience working in Agile delivery environments
- 1+ years of experience in ETL architecture and development
- 1+ years of experience using Python and Structured Query Language (SQL) to build or support data pipelines
- 1+ years of experience working with relational database management systems
- Ability to travel 0–10% on average, based on work, clients, and industries/sectors served
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future

Compensation and Location
Location: Boston, MA (onsite). Salary range: USD 71,300 to 140,600 per year. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $71,300 to $140,600.
