About the Organization
Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) is a local, community-based health plan dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Santa Clara County residents. Working in partnership with providers and community organizations, we serve our neighbors through Medi-Cal and SCFHP DualConnect (HMO D-SNP) health care plans.
Role Overview
Application Developer I – Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting small-scale in-house and vendor applications and interfaces. This includes ensuring accurate data exchanges between SCFHP and trading partners to meet SCFHP objectives and regulatory requirements.
Application Developer II – Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting small to medium scale in-house and vendor applications and interfaces, ensuring precise data exchange with trading partners to support SCFHP objectives and regulatory compliance.
Application Developer III – Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting small to large scale in-house and vendor applications and interfaces, including complex data exchange with trading partners to align with SCFHP objectives and regulatory compliance.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Maintain existing and develop new applications to support organizational business needs.
- Use data analysis techniques and queries to support internal business functions through report generation. For the Application Developer III, this also includes developing and maintaining the data warehouse.
- Review existing processes for each level (I: basic, II: basic to moderate, III: basic to complex) and recommend new or improved solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy, then implement those solutions.
- Assess and troubleshoot production issues related to performance, data errors, and process failures by examining error logs, source code, and relevant data to identify, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, other developers, and business users throughout the project life cycle to gather requirements, determine the best solutions, test them, and demonstrate functionality to end users.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent training/experience. (R)
- Application Developer I – One year of experience in application development. (D)
- Application Developer II – Minimum two years’ experience in application development. (R)
- Application Developer III – Minimum four years’ experience in application development. (R)
- Applicable software development certifications. (D)
- Application Developer I – Training or hands-on experience with SQL programming, MS SQL database development, and T-SQL query generation. (R)
- Application Developer II – Minimum one year of experience with SQL programming, MS SQL database development, and T-SQL query generation. (R)
- Application Developer II – Minimum one year of experience with MS SQL Business Intelligence tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) or other enterprise BI software. (R)
- Application Developer III – Minimum three years’ experience with MS SQL BI tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) or other enterprise BI software. (R)
- Application Developer II – One year of experience with languages/platforms such as .NET, PERL, Java, SAS, VB, C++, or other modern programming language or related software. (R)
- Application Developer III – Minimum three years’ experience with SQL programming, MS SQL database development, and T-SQL query generation. (R)
- Application Developer I – Knowledge of MS SQL BI tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) or other BI software. (D)
- Application Developer I – Knowledge of languages/platforms such as .NET, PERL, Java, SAS, VB, C++, or other modern programming language or related software. (R)

Pay: $85,740.00 - $128,610.00 per year
