Lead Data Engineer

Deloitte is seeking a Lead Data Engineer focused on Databricks to design, build, and deliver modern data and analytics solutions for client engagements. You will work on cloud-enabled, enterprise-scale initiatives, helping teams turn requirements into durable data platform capabilities while guiding stakeholders through architecture and delivery decisions.

This role is based in Rosslyn, VA with onsite expectations, and it comes with a salary range of USD 134,500 - 265,100 per year. Deloitte requires 6+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree.

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of Databricks-based data and analytics solutions across client engagements.
• Manage project teams and workstreams spanning requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data pipelines, data models, and platform capabilities.
• Advise client stakeholders on architecture, implementation approaches, and operating model considerations for modern data platforms.
• Oversee solution quality, issue resolution, and delivery progress, including support for project economics and timeline management.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6+ years delivering data engineering, analytics, or cloud data platform solutions.
• 3+ years with Databricks and Apache Spark.
• 3+ years with Python and Structured Query Language (SQL).
• 2+ years leading project teams or workstreams.
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on work and client/industry needs.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

• Experience with data governance, data quality, or platform security controls.
• Experience supporting client presentations, proposals, or solution demonstrations.
