Senior Appian Developer UI/UX
Job Description
Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Appian Developer UI/UX to join its delivery teams in McLean, VA, onsite. This role centers on designing, building, testing, deploying, and sustaining Appian applications with a strong emphasis on user experience for enterprise clients. The compensation range is USD 130,000 to 216,000 per year, and the position requires a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of Appian applications at Guidehouse, including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Apply a deep understanding of Appian's architecture and best practices to translate complex business requirements into functioning components.
- Leverage business process management within Appian to automate and optimize enterprise workflows.
- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, other developers, and IT professionals to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.
- Incorporate UI and UX principles to create intuitive, accessible interfaces that enhance user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to understand business needs and deliver Appian-based solutions.
- Design and implement complex business processes using Appian.
- Build, test, deliver, and maintain intelligent automation solutions within Appian.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive project success and address ambiguous or unstructured problems.
- Implement Appian development best practices and integrate Appian with other systems.
- Develop and maintain Appian plug-ins and interfaces to extend platform capabilities.
- Support the creation of technical documentation and user manuals; participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers; contribute to platform thought leadership and accelerator design.
- Keep up to date with new Appian capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve people, processes, and technology solutions within the organization.
- Apply UX principles across Appian applications to improve user satisfaction and engagement.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional Appian components.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust security clearance; clearance adjudication must be approved prior to onboarding.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience, including at least three years of Appian development.
- Active Appian Senior Developer certifications, with the ability to pursue additional relevant certifications on hire.
- Strong knowledge of the Appian platform, including Appian SAIL, Process Modeler, and Rules.
- Experience with Java, SQL, and web services; solid understanding of relational database architecture, management, and scripting.
- Ability to design business processes and integrate across disparate systems, following best practices.
- Proficiency in Java and web technologies; capacity to work within enterprise environments.
- Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.
- Experience designing enterprise user interfaces and applying UX best practices; familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design.
