Job Description

This UI-focused IT Applications Engineer IV role focuses on turning business requirements into dependable software solutions while advising stakeholders on how new and existing applications should be designed, built, and supported across channels.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work and support business-focused projects by applying subject matter expertise to develop work plans that align with business priorities and deadlines.
  • Coordinate and assign resources to meet delivery timelines, ensuring team adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support effective business decisions and address complex problems, escalating high-priority issues or risks as appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing self-development and support learning in others by sharing information, resources, advice, and expertise with coworkers and customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, including third-party vendors, to support alignment and buy-in.
  • Leverage DEVOPS alongside both Waterfall and Agile practices to design, develop, deliver, and support resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume application solutions across on/off-premise and cloud environments.
  • Translate business requirements and functional specifications into program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions in partnership with Business Analysts and other team members.
  • Identify technical interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures, and functions needed to support technical solutions, incorporating architectural designs where required.
  • Deliver insight on technical solution recommendations to meet both design and functional needs.
  • Lead systems incident support and troubleshooting for complex and non-complex issues.
  • Support component integration testing (CIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) by triaging issues, attending test team meetings, keeping QC up to date, performing fixes and unit testing, and informing test teams to ensure appropriate test depth coverage.
  • Provide implementation and post-implementation triage and support by programming and/or configuring enhancements for new or packaged-based systems and applications.
  • Review and validate technical specifications and documentation, and make updates as needed.
  • Develop and execute unit testing to identify application errors and confirm solutions meet functional specifications.
  • Write technical specifications and documentation, ensuring new and existing solutions reflect industry best practices, strategies, and architectures.
  • Build partnerships with IT teams and vendors to help ensure delivered code follows company architectural standards, design patterns, and technical specifications.
  • Lead, mentor, and train other technical resources to support application development.
  • Participate across all software development lifecycle phases by coaching others and applying in-depth knowledge of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls.
  • Assist with project estimation throughout the PLC.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modeling techniques, and database architectures, including analyzing data requirements and evaluating potential solutions through demonstration, installation, and commissioning.
  • Maintain responsibility for accessibility, retrievability, and security of specific information subsets, including advice on transformation between formats/mediums and application of formal data structures and protection measures.
  • Develop, configure, or modify basic to moderately complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions by designing and coding component-based applications in relevant programming languages.
  • Collaborate with architects and/or software consultants to convert functional specifications into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).
  • Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
  • Minimum six (6) years experience in software development or a related field; additional equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Location and Compensation

Location: Greensboro, NC (hybrid)

Salary: USD 114,900 per year
