UI/UX Lead Software Engineer
Job Description
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Enterprise Functions Technology, centered on UI/UX design and delivery of enterprise workflow, dashboard, reporting, and business-facing web applications. The role partners across product, engineering, and business teams to build user-centered digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, scalable, and well-supported across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology initiatives, including efforts with companywide scope and broad impact.
- Participate in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex, large-scale technology solutions across technology engineering disciplines.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document solutions for projects and programs.
- Review and analyze large-scale technology solutions to support tactical and strategic business objectives within the enterprise technology environment, including evaluation of technical challenges and non-obvious factors.
- Make decisions on standard practices and engineering approaches by applying industry best practices and new technologies, and influence/lead teams to meet deliverables and launch new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
- Lead projects and teams, and serve as a peer mentor.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, military experience, and/or education.
- 5+ years of professional UI/UX design experience delivering intuitive, user-centered digital experiences for web and/or mobile applications.
- 2+ years of hands-on Figma experience, including wireframing, prototyping, design systems, and collaborative product design.
- 2+ years developing or partnering on front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
- 3+ years conducting user research and usability testing, translating results into actionable design improvements.
- 3+ years designing responsive web applications across devices, screen sizes, and platforms.
- Experience applying accessibility standards and best practices, including WCAG guidelines, to support inclusive experiences.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
- 2+ years using AI-powered design-to-code tools to convert UX/UI designs (for example, Figma) into developer-ready front-end code to accelerate delivery workflows.
- 1+ years integrating existing RESTful APIs and backend services into front-end applications to ensure seamless, data-driven user experiences.
- Ability to bridge design and engineering by translating user-centered designs into scalable, maintainable React and TypeScript implementations.

- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to generate, optimize, and refine front-end code from design artifacts and prototypes.
- Experience owning end-to-end workflow from design conception through implementation, including API integration, testing, and deployment.
- Experience working as a UX Engineer, Design Technologist, or similar hybrid role combining UX design, front-end development, and AI-assisted delivery.
