Job Description
Orbweaver is hiring a mid-level Frontend/UI Developer to design, build, and maintain production-ready user interfaces and end-to-end workflows. In this hybrid role based in Bethlehem, PA 18018, you will take ideas from concept through implementation, turning product requirements and rough direction into clean, usable, and maintainable experiences.
What you’ll do
- Design and build user interfaces and workflows from concept to completion, translating requirements or early ideas into experiences that are clear, consistent, and easy to maintain.
- Develop and maintain front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Svelte, Angular, or Vue.
- Create responsive and consistent UI using Tailwind or Bootstrap, with the judgment to write custom CSS when a utility approach is not the right fit.
- Partner with design, product, and backend engineers to translate requirements into technical plans, then execute independently.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews by both giving and receiving feedback.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the stack by investigating root causes, not just applying temporary fixes.
- Continuously assess and recommend improvements to front-end architecture, tooling, and development practices.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications.
- Deep, practical experience with at least one modern front-end framework (React, Svelte, Angular, or Vue), including the ability to discuss trade-offs rather than only syntax.
- Strong experience with a CSS framework (Tailwind, Bootstrap, or similar) plus solid fundamentals in CSS/SCSS.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Experience consuming and integrating data from REST or GraphQL APIs, including authentication, pagination, error states, and loading/caching patterns.
- Ability to design UI and workflow, with comfort using wireframing and UX thinking or working closely with designers to shape solutions.
- Curiosity about the underlying mechanics (browsers, build tools, frameworks, and networking) and a habit of investigating instead of stopping at “it works.”
- Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals, asynchronous programming, and browser behavior.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently on ambiguous problems.
