The Machine Learning Engineer, Data & Machine Learning (DML) role at Amazon Web Services, Inc. focuses on designing, implementing, and scaling AI, ML, and generative AI solutions for customer use cases. This onsite position is based in Arlington, VA, with a yearly compensation range of USD 131,300 to 177,600. The role requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret/TS-SCI security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale complex, secure AI/ML solutions on AWS tailored to customer needs, including selecting and fine tuning models for specific use cases
- Develop and deploy machine learning models and generative AI applications that address real business problems, conducting experiments and optimizing performance at scale
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders to identify high value AI/ML use cases, gather requirements, and propose effective implementation strategies
- Provide technical guidance on applying AI, machine learning, and generative AI responsibly and cost effectively, troubleshooting throughout project delivery and ensuring adherence to best practices
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers on the latest advancements in AI/ML, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to leveraging diverse data sources for business impact
- Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, creating reusable AI/ML artifacts, and prototyping new technologies with team members to evaluate feasibility
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis tools and techniques
- Professional software engineering experience with best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence
- U.S. citizenship required
- Current, active Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
