Junior Software Engineer

SOCOTEC’s US engineering team is hiring a Junior Software Engineer to support the company’s AI platform and broader product portfolio. In this full-stack role, you’ll help deliver end-to-end features, working across modern frontends and Python backends while contributing to AI-powered capabilities for enterprise users.

The position is based in New York, NY with a hybrid setup.

What you’ll do

• Design and build features end-to-end across React frontends and Python backends using Django or FastAPI
• Own components and small services from specification through deployment and operation
• Contribute to AI-powered features including prompt engineering, agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations
• Participate in architecture and design discussions and shape technical direction as you grow
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and take part in code reviews
• Collaborate with the engineering lead, DevOps, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into shipped software
• Improve developer practices across CI/CD, testing, documentation, and operational excellence

What we’re looking for

• 0 to 3 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with React (or a comparable modern frontend framework) and Python (Django, FastAPI, or similar)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and modern web application architecture
• Familiarity with containerized deployments, including Docker
• Experience with AWS or Azure and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions (or equivalent)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable working across time zones and with non-technical stakeholders
• Curiosity about AI/ML and a genuine interest in building AI-powered products

• Experience with modern data infrastructure (Databricks, Snowflake, Airbyte, or similar)
• Experience with workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Temporal, or similar)

Nice to have

• Experience working on small engineering teams where individual ownership is high
• Exposure to enterprise SaaS or compliance-sensitive industries
• Background in AEC, construction tech, or industrial software

Employment details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: 4 days a week in office with one hybrid/remote day
• Salary: USD 110,000 - 140,000 per year
• Location: New York, NY (hybrid)
