Job Description

Zoom is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to help design, build, and improve GenAI algorithms and scalable machine learning systems. This role supports the translation of research into production-focused engineering solutions, with a hybrid schedule in Seattle, WA.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid)
  • Telecommuting: One day per week permitted
  • In-office requirement: Four days per week
  • Travel: No domestic or international travel requirement mentioned

Salary and Compensation

  • Salary range: USD 183,600 to 275,400 per year

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize GenAI algorithms, techniques, and solutions to solve complex business challenges
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into scalable engineering solutions aligned with business objectives
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical presentations to support engineering quality and reliability
  • Evaluate existing systems and propose improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Stay current on new developments in GenAI research and engineering to continuously strengthen technical capabilities

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or a related field/foreign equivalent)
  • Experience: 3 years in the job offered or related occupation
  • Skills (3 years each):
    • Utilizing one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or CUDA in building scalable software systems
    • Deep learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow
    • Presenting academic or personal AI projects
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to present technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
    • Agentic AI, including LLM-driven AI agents and agentic RAG
    • Building scalable, maintainable, and production-ready machine learning systems
    • Analyzing data and troubleshooting issues related to deployed AI systems
  • Work authorization: Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position

Alternative Education in Lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Education alternative: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or a foreign degree equivalent
  • Experience alternative: 1 year in the job offered or related occupation
  • Skills (1 year each):
    • Utilizing one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or CUDA in building scalable software systems
    • Deep learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow
    • Presenting academic or personal AI projects
