TikTok's Dedup team within the Core Feed focuses on video deduplication, copyright detection, and content safety. As a Machine Learning Engineer based in San Jose, CA (onsite), you'll build models, data pipelines, and deployment infrastructure to support billions of users in a real-time, unstructured data environment. This role blends research and production work to advance AI that powers core product experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale the Dedup and Copyright systems used by billions of users worldwide
- Design and deploy machine learning models to support video understanding and content integrity
- Incorporate cutting-edge AI technologies to improve model accuracy, performance, and system efficiency
- Develop scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support training and serving of ML models on real-time, unstructured data
- Run experiments to evaluate and debug models in production environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of ML systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in Machine Learning
- Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience in Multimedia or Computer Vision areas such as image/video/audio retrieval, representation learning, re-identification, or unsupervised/self-supervised learning

Job Information
Compensation: USD 156,000 - 316,800 annually for this role in the selected city. Base pay is one component of the total package and may be complemented by discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units. Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
