Senior Software Engineer- Machine Learning

The Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team at Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide engineering support for core tools and to help build out machine learning infrastructure. This role is based in Waltham, MA (onsite) and supports work that improves system parameter optimization and detects performance regressions in CI.

Role Focus

You will contribute to software engineering for existing team tools, with additional emphasis on standing up machine learning infrastructure where your ML background can be applied. The machine learning efforts center on parameter optimization and automated detection of performance regressions during continuous integration workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide software engineering and development support for multiple core tools used by the team
• For candidates with an ML background, help stand up new ML infrastructure to improve system parameter optimization and performance regression detection in CI

Requirements

• Professional experience in one or more of Python, Rust, C++, or C, with a clear record of using these languages professionally
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, functional programming, and REST API design
• Experience building low-latency or real-time software
• Experience with software testing, including Robot Framework testing and integration test development
• Comfort using AI coding assistants such as Claude or Codex as part of day-to-day workflow
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Machine learning background in hyperparameter optimization
• Machine learning background in anomaly detection
• Machine learning background in explainable ML (for example, Bayesian ML)
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Compensation

The salary range for this role is USD 190,000 - 252,000 per year.
