Software Engineer, Robotics Tracking and Fusion

Anduril Industries is hiring a Software Engineer to build real-time target tracking, state estimation, and multi-sensor fusion capabilities for mission-critical defense applications.

Responsibilities

• Shape and influence the direction of a small team using subject-matter expertise in target tracking and state estimation
• Prototype and deploy algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation in agile, iterative development cycles
• Build high-performance software spanning real-time systems, tactical implementations, simulation environments, and decision support tools
• Design robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems to extract actionable insights from noisy, ambiguous, or incomplete sensor inputs
• Evaluate system performance using high-fidelity simulations, modeling tools, and rigorous statistical techniques
• Support customer success by customizing algorithms and software for mission-critical scenarios, including real-time tracking and sensor fusion
• Integrate tracking and estimation work across the software lifecycle, from requirements definition through testing and optimization
• Communicate technical progress into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and end-users

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in algorithm design, software development, and statistical modeling with programming experience in C/C++, Python, and Matlab
• Knowledge of target tracking methods, including Kalman filters, particle filters, and multi-target tracking approaches such as JPDA, MHT, or PHD filters
• Experience with state estimation, including Bayesian filtering, sensor fusion, and recursive estimation techniques
• Applied math background including linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes
• Familiarity with signal processing for interpreting sensor data such as radar, lidar, and EO/IR
• Experience handling large-scale sensor data via big data pipelines and NoSQL databases
• Machine learning background as applied to target tracking and recognition, including clustering, classification, and anomaly detection
• Ability to engineer robust systems for estimation theory, adaptive filtering, controls, and complex signal environments
• Demonstrated experience across development lifecycles, from prototyping through optimizing production systems
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
