Job Description

Apple’s Creativity Apps team is hiring a Senior Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer to help design and deliver agentic workflows and user-facing ML capabilities for creative tools. In this onsite role in Cupertino, you’ll build and evaluate vision models and LLM/VLM-powered agents, then work with others to integrate them into the systems that ship to creators.

What you’ll do

  • Design agentic workflows that use these models to address multi-step user problems, including tool contracts, schemas, and orchestration logic.
  • Build state-of-the-art vision models, covering data collection, architecture design, and training.
  • Create evaluation frameworks for agentic workflows, including task success metrics, benchmarks, and regression testing.
  • Partner with client teams to integrate models and workflows into model runtimes and orchestration frameworks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to take ML-powered features for creators from concept through delivery.

What you bring

  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience deploying agentic systems to production, including work on AI reliability, safety, or benchmarking.
  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs or training adapters for foundation models.
  • Experience optimizing models for resource-constrained platforms, ideally with Core ML, Swift, and iOS/macOS.
  • A strong patent and publication record at top conferences.
  • Keen interest in the art and science of photography.
  • MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, plus 4+ years of industry experience delivering products in generative AI, machine learning, or computer vision.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of machine learning and deep learning.
  • Experience building and evaluating LLM/VLM-powered agents, including tool use, multi-step reasoning, planning, and context management.
  • Hands-on experience building, training, and deploying transformer-based vision models, GANs, or related methods.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ with a deep learning framework such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with strong communication and collaboration.
  • Commitment to encouraging an open and inclusive work environment.

Tools and technologies

  • Core ML, Swift, iOS, macOS
  • Python, C++
  • PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow
  • LLMs, VLMs
