Data Engineer / Analytics Developer

Join Virtusa as a Data Engineer / Analytics Developer in Chicago, IL (onsite) to build automated data pipelines, integrate enterprise SaaS systems, and deliver dashboards and full-stack web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy automated data pipelines to ingest, transform, and clean complex datasets.
• Use Python and SQL to reduce manual processing and improve system performance.
• Develop and maintain full-stack web applications and interfaces, including integration of AI models.
• Implement and execute technical delivery for enterprise SaaS projects.
• Integrate diverse platforms to maintain seamless data flow and reliable functionality.
• Engineer dashboards in Tableau and Power BI with accurate operational data representation and real-time performance tracking.
• Own the end-to-end code lifecycle: user-acceptance testing, system cutover, production deployment, and post-launch troubleshooting (Hypercare).

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python for scripting and data manipulation.
• SQL proficiency including advanced queries, stored procedures, and data modeling.
• Hands-on full-stack development experience using Next.js and Prisma, with experience integrating LLMs (e.g., Google Gemini).
• Expert-level knowledge of Excel (Power Query / Pivot) and experience building automated ETL workflows.
• Proficiency with Tableau and Power BI for visual analytics and dashboard development.
