Lockheed Martin Aeronautics at Hill Air Force Base is seeking a staff software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software used to verify F-16 OFP COMET avionics ITS in a virtual environment. This role combines hands-on software work with avionics testing in a secure, mission-focused setting and requires US citizenship with an active security clearance. The position is onsite, reflecting the critical nature of hardware-in-the-loop validation at the Hill, Utah facility.
Responsibilities
- Design software to verify OFPs on ITS hardware and within virtual environments.
- Develop and implement testing software for OFPs on ITS and in virtual settings.
- Document the testing software and processes used for OFP validation in ITS environments.
- Execute tests of OFP software on ITS and in virtual environments to ensure correctness and reliability.
- Debug and troubleshoot the testing software to support accurate OFP validation.
- Maintain and update the testing software throughout its lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
- Experience in at least two of the following areas: Unix/Linux system services; C/C++ software development; object-oriented design (OOD); aircraft weapons systems knowledge; avionics modeling / aircraft weapon simulation modeling.
- Experience with operating systems such as Windows, Sun Solaris, Linux or VxWorks (VxSim).
- Current Interim Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a Final Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizen.
