Role overview
This entry level Data Engineer position supports the Ads Science Analysis and Tech (ASAT) team within Amazon Ads. You will develop analytics methods, examine complex data flows, and translate insights into practical recommendations for bidding, targeting, relevance, and feature releases.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data trends related to supply, optimization, ad load, and advertising mix to influence advertiser performance and goals
- Present findings to senior leaders on feature development impact, identity recognition rates, and shifts in ad selection systems to improve fill rate
- Formalize analytics around Ads auctions by examining bid spreads, auction depth, and simulating changes to auction structure
- Identify, standardize, and operationalize KPIs to measure performance across ad serving systems and inform business priorities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define data logging requirements and secure prioritization on roadmaps
- Validate financial models through comprehensive analysis
- Develop and own ad revenue and supply intelligence analytics decks for ongoing deep dives
Requirements
- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience using AI to automate and build with GitHub and other sources to showcase projects

As a member of the Ads Science Analytics team, you will work with business leaders and engineers to develop a common data architecture that enables robust logging across multiple grains and ensures data interoperability from bid flow through optimization to campaign delivery.
