Job Description
Ledgent Technology is seeking a Software Engineer III with AWS Cloud to support a financial services organization developing next generation systems. This contract role is based in Newport Beach, CA (onsite) and focuses on AWS cloud engineering, integration, and API development delivered through a modern software development lifecycle.
The position combines technical design with cross-functional execution, from clarifying requirements and evaluating feasibility to building and delivering solutions through SDLC. You will partner with product and engineering teams while contributing to automation efforts and turning insights from large datasets into product capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex business problems, clarify requirements, and evaluate technology feasibility.
- Support scope definition and workflow design, including facilitation of technology development.
- Develop solutions for complex business problems and help drive delivery from concept to implementation.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to refine the backlog, prioritize use cases, and improve team understanding.
- Work with business and technology teams on integration design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to shape innovative automation engineering solutions.
- Mine large and complex datasets to extract insights and convert them into new product features.
- Execute projects from scratch through to production with cross-team collaboration.
- Communicate complex concepts and results clearly and effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software development, architecture, and/or cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience implementing data integration and API services using AWS cloud technologies.
- Strong foundation in modern SDLC across technologies including AWS Services, RDBMS, NoSQL, Python, C#, .NET Core, and Windows/Linux, plus Terraform.
- Working knowledge of automation, integration, and business process management solutions.
- Experience working within a fast-paced Agile software development team.

Additional Qualification
- Experience with financial services and annuities or insurance products preferred.
Compensation: USD 75 - 85 per hourly.
