Job Description

At WSSC Water, this onsite role in Laurel, Maryland seeks a Sr. Application Developer focused on ServiceNow to design, build, and sustain comprehensive ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, CSM, WSD, SPM, and related operations. This contract position emphasizes module development, integrations, workflows, testing, and documentation to ensure timely delivery and reliable performance, with a compensation range of USD 108,233 to 184,288 per year and a requirement for a Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain ServiceNow applications and modules
  • Migrate legacy IT service applications and workflows onto the ServiceNow platform
  • Design and tailor Service Portal interfaces
  • Provide ongoing operational support for ServiceNow and integrated applications
  • Analyze, design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain ServiceNow applications and enhancements
  • Follow standard SDLC and Agile practices to deliver measurable results on time and within budget
  • Conform to team standards for ServiceNow development, including tools, platforms, methodologies, and controls
  • Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans for ServiceNow solutions
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of ServiceNow configurations and code
  • Deliver program and system level time/cost estimates for ServiceNow projects
  • Evaluate and modify ServiceNow Store applications and integrations to optimize enterprise configurations
  • Maintain technical documentation aligned with the latest ServiceNow enhancements or releases
  • Assist in reviewing the current technical architecture within the ServiceNow ecosystem
  • Assist with defining and meeting business requirements on the ServiceNow platform
  • Serve as project lead for small ServiceNow initiatives
  • Collaborate with business units and other IT teams for ServiceNow configuration and development needs
  • Provide guidance to less experienced ServiceNow developers and administrators
  • Work with legacy systems for data migration and integration with ServiceNow
  • Report on ServiceNow application development and performance
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Excellent ServiceNow development and configuration capabilities
  • Strong communication skills for documenting and troubleshooting with business and technical stakeholders
  • Solid analytical and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to configure and administer various ServiceNow applications and modules
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, and other ServiceNow scripting languages
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CSM, WSD, and SPM
  • Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, and REST/SOAP APIs for integration
  • Proficiency with an IDE for ServiceNow development (e.g., ServiceNow Studio)
  • Experience with Service Portal development using AngularJS, React, or similar frameworks
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow workflows, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub
