Opportunity Overview

Location: Edina, MN 55435. Western National is seeking a Salesforce Developer IV to join our team. In this senior role, you will collaborate to design, implement, test, and deploy impactful Salesforce enhancements and automation that improve business processes. You will also mentor teammates and share knowledge across the organization.

Role Summary

The Salesforce Developer IV provides technical leadership for the design, development, and operational excellence of Western National’s Salesforce platform. You will offer architectural guidance, mentor internal staff, and oversee work from external and offshore development partners. You will ensure Salesforce solutions are scalable, secure, high-quality, and aligned with long-term platform strategy and business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Lead design, development, unit testing, and deployment of high-impact Salesforce enhancements that meet business requirements and architectural standards.
  • Serve as the technical authority for Salesforce solution design to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with the long-term Salesforce roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to offshore team members and external Salesforce partners, acting as the primary technical liaison between internal teams and vendors.
  • Review vendor and internal designs and code to ensure adherence to development standards, security requirements, and Salesforce best practices.
  • Participate in work refinement, estimation, and release planning with product teams and change control partners.
  • Actively participate in team sprints, contributing to the ongoing development of the Salesforce platform alongside other developers.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of production issues, coordinating cross-team actions to restore service and prevent recurrence.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements across the Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on quality and user experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and design artifacts for product teams and the organization.
  • Mentor and coach team members, guiding trade-offs and fostering growth in engineering best practices.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects, and proactively communicate risks, delays, and roadblocks to the team and leadership.
  • Consistently uphold Western National customer experience standards and identify opportunities to improve adoption and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with primary customers, including internal teammates, product leadership, cross-functional partners, vendors, and business users.
  • Support the Salesforce application through on-call rotation as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient with office software, business tools, and core systems.
  • Five or more years of hands-on Salesforce experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Advanced skills in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, SOQL / SOSL.
  • Advanced experience with Salesforce integration patterns (REST, SOAP, Platform Events).
  • Advanced experience with code versioning and deployment tools.
  • Broad exposure to multiple technology stacks and core systems.
  • Ability to mentor others and share knowledge to raise overall team capability.
  • Bachelor of Science in computer science, mathematics, information management, or statistics is preferred; experience can substitute for education.

  • Clear and influential communication with decision makers, product owners, and teams to prioritize technical improvements that meet standards.

Compensation Overview

The targeted hiring range for this role is $112,300 to $160,600 per year. Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, experience, and role scope and location. Candidates seeking compensation outside the posted range are welcome to apply and will be evaluated on their qualifications and may be considered for other opportunities.
