Job Description

Senior Salesforce Developer IV responsible for the design, development, and operational excellence of Western National’s Salesforce platform, providing architectural guidance and mentoring internal teams and offshore partners.

Responsibilities

  • Spearheads end-to-end Salesforce enhancements from design through unit testing and deployment, ensuring alignment with business needs and architectural standards.
  • Acts as the technical authority for Salesforce solution design, ensuring scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with Western National’s long-term Salesforce roadmap.
  • Provides technical leadership and oversight to offshore staff and external Salesforce partners, serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and vendors.
  • Reviews designs and code from both vendors and internal contributors to verify adherence to development standards, security requirements, and Salesforce best practices.
  • Collaborates in work refinement, estimation, and release planning with product teams and change control partners.
  • Participates actively in team sprints, contributing to ongoing Salesforce platform development alongside other engineers.
  • Leads troubleshooting and resolution of production issues, coordinating cross-team actions to restore service and prevent recurrence.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation, process improvement, and greater efficiency across the Salesforce ecosystem, emphasizing quality and user experience.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation, specifications, and design artifacts required by the product team or organization.
  • Mentors and coaches teammates, guiding trade-offs and fostering growth in technical skills and engineering practices.
  • Ensures timely delivery of projects and tasks, proactively communicating risks, delays, and roadblocks to team members and leadership.
  • Upholds Western National customer experience standards and seeks opportunities to improve adoption and satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with primary customers, including internal teammates, product leadership, cross-functional partners, vendors, and business users.
  • Provides on-call support for the Salesforce application as necessary.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of hands-on Salesforce experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Advanced proficiency with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, SOQL and SOSL.
  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce integration patterns, including REST, SOAP, and Platform Events.
  • Advanced proficiency with code versioning and deployment tools.
  • Broad exposure to and intermediate knowledge of multiple technology stacks and core systems.
  • Ability to mentor others to share knowledge and raise team capabilities.
  • Bachelor of Science in computer science, math, information management, or statistics is preferred; experience may substitute for education.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments to a high standard.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with office software and core systems used across the organization.
