Senior Android Application Developer

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Electrical Engineering at Johnson Health Tech Companies, the Senior Android Application Developer leads native Android initiatives that integrate with our fitness equipment and supports our retail and e-commerce platforms. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about fitness, mobile innovation, and crafting intuitive digital experiences that help users reach their wellness goals. Location: Vancouver, Washington 98683.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications for fitness tracking, equipment integration, and retail engagement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and hardware engineering to deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Integrate with fitness APIs such as Google Fit and Health Connect, Bluetooth enabled fitness equipment, and IoT platforms.
• Optimize app performance across a wide range of Android devices and screen sizes.
• Ensure secure handling of user data, especially health and fitness metrics.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Stay up to date with Android development trends and fitness technology innovations.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of native Android development using Kotlin and Java.
• Qualifications: Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and Google Play Store deployment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
