Mobile Application Developer III

Love’s Travel Stops is hiring a Remote Application Developer III to design, build, and enhance Android mobile applications with a focus on customer experience, system reliability, and faster delivery. This fully proficient individual contributor role blends hands-on Android development with strong quality, CI/CD, DevOps, and AI-assisted tooling to help teams ship with confidence. The position is based in Oklahoma City, OK (remote) and requires 5+ years of experience.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and enhance Android mobile applications running in cloud-based and distributed environments
• Deliver scalable, maintainable, high-quality code aligned with enterprise engineering standards
• Integrate mobile apps with backend services and RESTful APIs
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects, performance issues, and production incidents
• Build and maintain automated test suites across unit, integration, and UI testing
• Increase release quality and confidence using automation and continuous testing practices
• Partner with QA to strengthen test coverage and support defect prevention strategies
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, including build automation, testing, and deployment
• Support monitoring, observability, and production stability for mobile applications
• Apply secure coding practices and data protection standards
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to team design decisions
• Collaborate cross-functionally in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as estimation and sprint planning
• Provide informal guidance and support to less experienced developers
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, testing efficiency, and delivery speed
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve development processes and engineering practices
• Stay current with mobile technologies, frameworks, and industry trends
• Support broader team and enterprise goals by proactively contributing to initiatives beyond core responsibilities

What you bring

• Strong proficiency in Android development using Kotlin and/or Java
• Experience with mobile test automation frameworks
• Experience delivering and supporting customer-facing mobile applications
• Experience integrating mobile apps with RESTful APIs and backend services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively within Agile/Scrum teams
• Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Tabnine, or similar
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools to improve developer efficiency and code quality
• 5+ years of relevant experience
