Job Description

CGI Group, Inc. is hiring a Java API Developer to help deliver secure, scalable, high-performance RESTful and event-driven APIs for a large financial institution. In a demanding technical environment, you will design and build backend components and work across design, business, and technical partners to translate requirements into functional system designs.

This position is onsite 5 days a week, based in Pittsburgh, PA and/or Cleveland, OH (Pittsburgh is listed as the location for the role). The estimated salary range in the U.S. is USD 70,800 to 156,700 per year, and CGI typically does not hire at or near the top of the range.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement API, microservices, and backend components.
  • Develop and unit test Java RESTful services that integrate with external client systems.
  • Analyze user requirements and define technical scope and assumptions for assigned tasks.
  • Create technical designs for new systems and for modifications to existing systems.
  • Translate detailed requirements into functional system designs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external design, business, and technical counterparts.
  • Research and recommend functional libraries to help accelerate development.

What you’ll need

  • 4+ years overall experience in Java/J2EE development with REST API, Spring Boot, Angular, XML, JSON, and Swagger.
  • 3+ years of RESTful web services.
  • 2+ years with GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD server experience.
  • Knowledge of APIGEE Configuration.
  • Knowledge of services for Kafka Streaming and MongoDB.
  • Experience writing unit tests for JavaScript code.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personalities and understand technical issues.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
